Sara's Class 2017

Date: 28th Sep 2017 @ 9:27am

Welcome back SR3 with a new name of Sara’s Class. We’re very lucky to be with the same students as last year and even the same staff. Not a lot has change except everyone has grown a little more over the summer.

This year we are starting with the theme of ‘The Universe’. We will be exploring space and the solar system in Science and even making our own rockets that will hopefully take off.

In English we will be looking at The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and the magical world the characters enter. We will also continue to develop our spellings and phonics skills by having regular spelling tests and practise.

In Maths we are focusing on number place and confidently recognising tens and units. We we also be revisiting shapes and their properties.

This year we will continue going to Inspire Cafe to practise our skills in the community and learn how to use money independently. Students will also have the opportunity to go to Wythenshawe Wheelers on a Tuesday afternoon if they do not want to go to Choir.

Something new this year is swimming. We were all very keen to do it last year so it is now on the timetable every Friday morning. Students will either go to the community swim at Stockport or participate in the swimming lessons at Manchester Aquatic Centre. We ask that if students are involved in the community swim then they should bring a bus pass or money for the bus.
