Mindful movement

Many of our children are often in a heightened state of stress and reactivity. Yoga, with the repetition of movement with breath, can help reduce stress levels and bring a level of calm to the emotional and sensory system. This in turn can create more opportunities for engagement and purposeful activity.

Building yoga into a weekly routine can help to enhance the child’s ability to tune into their body, their breathing and learn to recognise what calm feels like.
