Forest School

Lesson: Learning Outside the Classroom

Forest school at the Grange allows children of all ability to experience the outdoors. Some of our children enjoy exploring the space, benefitting from the sensory experiences they receive outside and enjoying the opportunity to learn through play in this different environment. For other young people Forest School sessions allow them to develop confidence in their environment  through identifying and managing outside risks, building a sense of responsibility for themselves and their environment and improving self-esteem and emotional intelligence through a range of activities they wouldn't otherwise get to do.

With activities from natural art, bug collecting and mud play through to cooking over camp fires there is something for every ability to get involved with and to learn to love the outside.
