Emus

Blue and Delta

Emus

Blue and Delta were hatched at Grange School. Following an 8 week incubation period, our two amazing emu’s joined the Grange community.

Emus make good school animals for several reasons. Their size, appearance, and behaviours captivate students' interest and foster curiosity about wildlife. Emus provide a tangible connection to subjects like biology, ecology, and evolution, offering real-world examples for lessons on animal physiology, habitats, and adaptation.

Despite their large size, emus are generally docile and have low aggression, making them safe for supervised interactions with students.
